Privacy Policy
A plain-language explanation of the information we collect through this website and how we use it.
1. Who this policy applies to
Nia Bloom (Pty) Ltd operates Nia Bloom Bakes. This policy applies when you visit this website, contact us through the website, join the newsletter, or otherwise provide personal information to us through the website.
2. What information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:
- your first name and last name;
- your email address;
- your cell phone number;
- the message or enquiry you send us;
- your newsletter email address and consent to receive updates; and
- basic technical information that may be recorded by our website host or service providers, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, date and time of access, and server logs.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information only for purposes connected to the reason it was provided. This may include responding to an enquiry, discussing or managing an order or celebration request, sending newsletter updates where you have asked to receive them, maintaining the security and reliability of the website, keeping appropriate business records, and meeting legal obligations.
4. Contact form and newsletter are separate
Submitting the Contact Us form does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Newsletter consent is requested separately. You can unsubscribe from newsletter communications at any time by using an unsubscribe option provided in an email, where available, or by contacting us.
5. Service providers
We use service providers to operate parts of the website. Form submissions are processed through Formspree. The website also uses Google Fonts to display its typography, which may cause your browser to connect to Google when a page loads. Our website host and other technical service providers may process limited technical information necessary to deliver and secure the website.
Where a service provider processes information outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to personal information.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising trackers. Basic technical data may still be processed by the hosting environment and third-party services needed to deliver website features. If we add analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies in future, this policy will be updated and any consent mechanism required at that time will be added.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business records, resolve enquiries or disputes, and meet legal or regulatory requirements. Information that is no longer required will be deleted, de-identified or securely disposed of where reasonably practicable.
8. How we protect information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. No website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we aim to use service providers and website practices appropriate to the nature of the information we collect.
9. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, request access to or correction of information, ask us to delete information where there is no lawful reason for us to keep it, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
10. Privacy enquiries
For a privacy question or request, email hello@niabloombakes.co.za. Please provide enough information for us to understand and respond to your request.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, our services or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
